Scrappy Orange Windows

today, i was overwhelmed by the amount of scraps in my scrap bin.. it’s getting to the point where i almost can’t close the lid.  and let me tell you, my scrap bin is huge!  so i decided i needed to make an all-scraps quilt.

20" Orange Windows block

so when i came across Sewn’s Orange Windows Block, i thought it would be just perfect!!  i made my scrappy Orange Windows block 20″ square.  the only thing i did differently is that i haven’t sewn my orange peels down yet.  i plan on doing quilt as you go, and i’ll sew them down at that point.  then i used yet more scraps from my bin to make rows of scrappy borders.  this colourful quilt is just the perfect size for a baby.

i plan on using scraps for the back too.  i do have some larger scraps, and some orphan blocks.  i’ll figure something out :)   the sad part is that i’ve barely made a tiny dent in my scrap bin!  so i think i should make a bunch more :)
